Dr. Pure is a Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association where he has served in a variety of governance positions including three terms on the Executive committee and two as Treasurer of the Association. He served as Coordinator of Group Psychotherapy Training and Services at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University from 1996-2006 and is a Lecturer in Clinical Psychiatry. He has also twice served as president of the Illinois Group Psychotherapy Society and been its training director.
In addition to workshops and experiential groups locally and nationally, Dr. Pure has presented at international conferences on issues related to practice development and gender issues in groups. A related focus for him is Attachment Theory in group psychotherapy and the application of Emotionally Focused Therapy principles and techniques to group. Dr. Pure has a vibrant practice which includes several groups.

I currently run single gender men's groups in addition to co-ed groups. My groups are long-term, interpersonal process groups that are informed by Attachment Theory and EFT.
I am currently planning a group for mental health professionals, a consultation group, and a group to augment EFT for couples.
